You may, or may not have noticed, that this site hasn't had any new images added since mid-March. Not sure why this happened, but I am happy to announce that this site is back up and running, and you will be seeing more posts.
Resting. This is my 100th picture. I really, really like this one. There is so much character and detail in this picture, words cannot begin to explain it. Worn, worked and sometimes under-appreciated; but always ready to work some more.
Happy Hour. Walking to the van the other day, I passed this "tar on asphalt" piece and had to get a picture of it. It reminded me of a martini glass being handed to someone. The arm comes in from the right, the first line poking out towards the top is the thumb and the other poking out lines on the left are the other fingers. Maybe it's just me that sees it, but that's okay.
Because Strait is the Gate, and Narrow is the Way. I actually took this picture while crossing the road. As with life, this line in the street is full of cracks and distractions, but if we push on and stay strong, this life will be worth it.
Rain, Rain, Go Away. I took this the other day when it was raining. Gloomy and gray, yet still beautiful. I love the contrast of all the power lines against the gray sky.
A Small Crack in Reality. I'm not in love with this pic, but I am digging the title that just popped into my head. I think it would be a great name for a band.
Calorie Counting. As part of 2010, I decided that I need to have a few realistic goals. One of which is to get to 190 pounds. One of the key things is portion size. Instead of eating this whole plate of spaghetti and meatballs, I split it in half. One portion for lunch, the other for dinner.
Everyday Textures. I was feeling like I needed to take a picture of a texture, so I grabbed my phone and took a stroll around the office. I ended up in the kitchen and settled on the blank part of the cork board. I really like the depth of field in this one.
Big Brother is Watching You. I took this shot for a few reasons. First, I really like the perspective angles, and second, if you look really close near the top of the larger building, you'll notice a security camera. Big Brother is always watching.
The Mighty Novell. I had a tiny bit of time before someone came to open the van up, so I walked around the Novell campus and snapped a few pictures. I really like this shot, it's very looming.
May the Force Be With You. For all you Star Wars fans out there, I thought I'd share this photo I snapped after using the restroom inside the main Novell building (relax, I washed my hands). I couldn't help but notice that the light fixtures resembled a light saber.
Holy Detail, Batman! Snapped this shot the other day when I was picking up a few things at Smiths. This used to be my favorite isle before I stopped drinking soda.
Where The Wild Things Came From. Isn't this cool looking? I passed this frozen little puddle on my way into work and had to stop to capture this moment in time.
I Think He's Dead, Jim. This has to be one of the best bumper stickers that I have ever seen, hands down. It really made my day. And the license plate is pretty good, too.
In 1492, Columbus Sailed the Ocean Blue. For some reason, this picture of my bedspread reminds me of what the ocean would have looked like in an illustrated book about Chris Columbus.
Off in the Distance. This was a cool shot that I took while waiting for someone to unlock the van. I took two, actually—one landscape and one portrait. I chose to go with this one.
Another Sunset? Really? The nice thing about sunsets is that they are like fingerprints, no two are ever alike—ever. That's why whenever I see a cool sunset, out comes the camera.
Be Grateful. Taking these pictures is a lot of fun—it keeps me alert to the things around me. Another part of the fun comes with naming the photos. Sometimes it's a no-brainer, and sometimes it's a bit of a challenge. Luckily, this one was easy.
Let There Be Light. I had the chance to go and eat at Marley's the other day. It's located in the Timpanogos Harley Davidson store in Lindon, Utah. Not only was the food exceptional, they had the place decked out with all sorts of cool things—like these awesome lights.
No, It's Not a Missile Silo. While driving back from lunch with a good friend, we passed by this empty silo in the middle of nowhere. I had to get a picture of it. Thanks to my friend for being willing to stop in the mud so I could snap a pic.
Baby Noah. Cute little bean. Babies are fun and challenging at the same time, and each one is different with their own little personalities and quirks.
Fallen. This isn't my favorite picture, by far, but I do like the simplicity of it. I am glad that there are still leaves on the ground to remind me that there is hope of winter ending sometime.
Winter Contrails. First, I need to apologize to my wife—the lines that flying jets leave behind are called "contrail" lines, not "contour" lines. My bad (she's always right). It was amazing how long the contrails from this jet on the horizon were, and how long they lasted. I had to get a picture of of.
A Barbie Chorus Line. My oldest really likes to line up her Barbies, dress them up and then swap outfits. I think this is really a fun shot—don't ask me how many Barbies she has, I have no idea.
Basic Shapes. I took this one at the corner just outside my work place. It's a big electrical/phone box. I love the character that exists just under the circle piece.
