You may, or may not have noticed, that this site hasn't had any new images added since mid-March. Not sure why this happened, but I am happy to announce that this site is back up and running, and you will be seeing more posts.
I like finding new and exciting ways to view certain situations or places. This one turned out really nice. I love how you can see the layering of elements.
Got Planks of Wood? #blackandwhite #iphoneography #absolutecontrast
I took this standing on top of a fairly large pile of lumber. Amazing that a pile of lumber can be somewhat unsteady, and yet add a few nails and it can be as sturdy as a rock.
Mmm... Peanut Butter Cookies. #blackandwhite #iphoneography #absolutecontrast Came home from work the other day to find out that Heather had made peanut butter cookies. Mmmm, some of my favorite kind.
Now That's a Big Nail. #blackandwhite #iphoneography #absolutecontrast
Construction sites offer a myriad of photo opportunities. I came across this nail and snapped the picture, and then picked it up and took it home with me.
Detail in Nature. #blackandwhite #iphoneography #absolutecontrast
I love the different shapes and shades of contrast in this picture. So many details. On a side note, if you are a fan of details, check out this illustration I did.
The setting sun really allows for some great black and white photos. This is one of the corners of the new house we are building—they poured the cement that day.
Took this shot after viewing the fairly large hole in the ground where our new house is being built. Amazing that there are so many critical things in life (like rebar) that we take for granted.
Sometimes success isn't measured on where you start on the "ladder of life", but has more to do with the determination and will to make the most of your situation.
In the Shadow of Area 51. #blackandwhite #iphoneography
I took this picture the other day when I went to see The Last Airbender (click to read my review) with my family. Lyndie, my youngest (4), wanted to ride on my shoulders. Perfect looking alien shadow, huh?
Don't Tread on Me. Seriously. Don't. I thought the title is fitting of the picture, seeing as the monster that these treads belong to weighs a ton (or more). #blackandwhite #iphoneography
Small Cart, Big 6-Year Old. We took our kids to The Quilted Bear the other day—mistake number one. That store has way too many things for them to touch. The rule was, if you touch something and don't listen, you have to sit in the cart. Not two minutes into the store, and Logan, my 6-year old, was in the cart. Problem is, the carts there are miniature. He wasn't happy.
Smoke Bombs For Everyone. We started the Independence Day celebrations with smoke bombs and pop-its. After we got done with the smoke bombs, I saw an opportunity for a cool photo. Logan helped out by standing at the end of the line.
My Weapon of Choice (For Today). You've probably seen this guy before. He belongs to my Fantastic Four. Sometimes all the will suffice is a good old pen.
Along For the Ride. Check this out! I found this baby dragonfly on the path one morning, just chillin' in the shade. I picked him up (he really didn't have a choice, seeing as he was cold) and took him with me the rest of the way to work. Check out the detail in his wings!
The Letter T. (series) Not much to say about this one, it's pretty straight forward. If I can mix it up a little, I might try and find upper and lower case.
The Letter I. (series) I have decided to look for shapes that make letters—not full time or anything hardcore, just when they present themselves. I am going to try and avoid taking shots of actual letters—but there are always exceptions to rules.
Wee Little Mushroom. I love this shot—probably one of my favorites. This mushroom was so small and was just able to peek over the top of the grass around it.
