You may, or may not have noticed, that this site hasn't had any new images added since mid-March. Not sure why this happened, but I am happy to announce that this site is back up and running, and you will be seeing more posts.
Looks Can Be Deceiving. Don't let this picture fool you. This may look like a "pretty" flower, but the rest of it is all business and no play. It's a Canada thistle. Nasty looking weed.
Sleepy Kia. Funny how easy it is to fall asleep on the way home from work. Snapped this picture of Kia the other day. Thank goodness for AC, or the whole van might fall asleep.
Morning Light Play. I think that the contrast between the elements in this photo work very well—the morning light on the grass, the stark reflection of the trees and the neutrality of the water.
Angel Wings. I saw this walking the other day and I thought to myself, "You know, those kind of look like wings—like angel wings." Hence, the name of the photo.
Anchored. Ah, yes, you are anchored, but will it hold? Another shot from my sister's backyard. I love the different textures and directions of this photo.
Nothing But Wood. This is a nice shot of a few planks of wood. I love the detail that you can see in both the blurred, out of focus areas as well as in the in focus areas.
Old Father Time Was Here. This is a shot of part of an old-fashioned clothes line. I think there is still one of these in my parents backyard. This one is in my younger sisters backyard. I love the detail in this.
Every Leaf Has a Thorn. The title is kind of a spin off of the Poison song, Every Rose Has a Thorn. In this case, this isn't a rose bush, but a real nasty looking weed. No desire to reach out and embrace this weed at all.
My Little Wal-Mart Zombie. Hahaha. This is a great shot of Lyndie. When we go to Wal-Mart, my kids are on the lookout for the greeter who gives out the stickers. About 15 minutes into our shopping trip, this is what Lydie did with her stickers.
Where in the World? This caught my eye the other day—it's a grate piece in the large, nomadic wilderness (a.k.a. the Novell parking lot) I cross twice a day. I thought it was unique and sort of out of place.
The Fantastic Four. Seriously, these are the real members of The Fantastic Four—at least, my Fantastic Four. Three pencils and an eraser—sometimes one of the pencils has a stunt double—it's a pen. I love being creative.
Tropical Storm? No, but close to it. This was the wind that accompanied the storm that blew in yesterday. A little rain, a little wind and some cooler temperatures. Nice.
Through the Looking Glass. With all of the rain we've been getting lately, there are plenty of photo opportunities around. I took this picture just outside my work. I am looking down into a puddle.
Something Wicked This Way Comes, Part 2. I love it when there are multi-colored clouds; black, white and every shade of gray in between. Ah, I do love it when it rains.
Summertime Kids. This picture reminds me of what it was like to be a single parent for an entire week. While it was manageable and fun, I wouldn't want to do it full time.
Cheesy Tots on a Stone. Many of you may recognize this picture, but it may be new to some of you. This is an older shot I took with my iPhone last summer, months before doing the black and white blog. I think it is appropriate, though, and brings back memories of watching the kids for a week by myself.
So Let it Be Written, So Let it Be Done. This is a shot of a page of words done by my oldest daughter, Mallory. She is very creative and quite the daydreamer, just like her dad.
Have You Seen My Stapler? Ah, if you've seen Office Space, you get the joke. If not, then find someone who has a copy of it and borrow it—especially if you work in a cubicle.
Litter Bug. Saw this bottle on the way to work the other day. Thought to myself I should take a picture, but I didn't. On the way back, the bottle was still there. So, I stopped and took this picture. Turned out exactly how I saw it my head.
Just Hanging Around, Looking for a Ball. I honestly didn't think of this title (or the other title on AC229) when I took the pictures, but now that I look back on it, it seems like fate brought it all to pass.
In case you don't get it (some people might not at first) the phrase between the two images is "Ball and Chain".
Life in Motion. (series) More from the fast lane of construction. I really like this shot. There is something about capturing something in motion that makes it more interesting.
The Old Ball Looking for a Chain. With all the construction being done on the Novell campus, it allows for a lot of various photo opportunities. This ball looks like it would hurt if it landed on your foot—but only just a little.
Life in Motion. (series) It seems with the arrival of summer, road construction has come to life and reared it's ugly, 55 mph, orange barreled head. But, it makes for some really interesting pictures.
The Boy Scouts of America. Long story short, the power went out at work (and we were told to go home) so we got a ride from a coworker who needed to stop by the Boy Scout's store on the way. Pretty cool store. I took a few pictures.
