You may, or may not have noticed, that this site hasn't had any new images added since mid-March. Not sure why this happened, but I am happy to announce that this site is back up and running, and you will be seeing more posts.
Limb Buddies. Love this shot of these "limb buddies". This was early in the morning. I am really happy with the depth of field that the iPhone can capture.
Old Timer in the Shade. Walking home the other day, I passed a slightly modified Chevy truck. Very nice, I like things like this—antique and full of character.
Still Walking Up. Now that spring is here, the trees are blooming and walking up. The other day, I passed this one tree and the buds were still closed. Little sleepy heads...
No, Seriously. I am glad that someone took the time to wrap this caution tape around a whole they dug in the ground while working on the sprinklers. Seriously, I could have fallen in.
Don't Look Down. If you look closely at the middle of this picture, you can see a window washer suspended in mid-air by ropes while he cleans the windows. No thank you—if I wanted to scare myself with heights it wouldn't be while working.
In Full Bloom. Nothing says spring like a tree in full bloom. It also has a way of making a lot of people sneeze—if you suffer from allergies. I hate allergies.
Looking Down. While sitting in the passenger seat the other day, I noticed my wife's open purse. I thought it might look cool in black and white, and what do you know, it does.
Life In Motion. (series) I haven't done one of these in a while, so I thought it was time. It's amazing how straight the lines look traveling at 60 mph.
The Sippy Cup. Funny, we still use the occasional sippy cup for my 3 year old. She doesn't need it, but it's a lot more convenient than mopping up spilled milk from the floor.
Small Signs of Life. Cool morning walks to work, warm sun on my face on the ride home—yep, spring is finally here. These are very small flowers along the walkway where I have preserved so many moments in life with my phone.
Which Way Will You Go? Traveling along the bumpy road we call life, there are always choices to be made. Which way to go? Will I choose right? What if I make a mistake? Thank goodness we have the tools and knowledge to find out which way to go.
I Love To Ride My Bicycle. I borrowed one of Queens song titles for the caption/title for this shot. It's amazing how much of a difference black and white can make to a picture.
Intrigue in Detail. This picture (and the next one) are some of my favorites. I think what's most intriguing to me is the detail mother nature puts into her creations. Simply amazing.
First of the Spring Season. I came across these the other day while walking to the van. The first dandelions I have seen in 2010. The next thing I knew, I looked up and they were everywhere.
Eat Your Heart Out, Brett Leonard (director of The Lawnmower Man). The lawn care professionals are out in force now that the weather has had a turn for the better (fingers crossed).
Got Shampoo? This entire isle at the Smiths near my house is dedicated entirely to shampoo (and conditioner). All different kinds, all different sizes.
Makes You Wonder Where the Exit Is. Too bad all the important signs in life aren't as big and bold as the entrance sign to the hospital. That would make life a lot easier.
My Trusty Steed. Many of you know that I like to draw, just a little bit. I always try and have some form of paper and pencil within arms reach at all times. This is a shot of my clipboard with it's mammoth stack of paper—most of which is full of doodles that are half finished, just waiting.
That's Some Serious Damage. I don't know what it is about the ceiling tiles in office buildings, but once they get wet, they look like they are about to spawn a new breed of Alien that is ready to snatch us up, one at a time. Remember, in the office, no one can hear you scream.
How Are You Feeling Today? I drew this the other day, and plan on showing off a final colored version at www.jeremyenglish.blogspot.com soon. I wasn't feeling too particularly happy when I drew it. But, after drawing it, I felt better. Kind of like casting out the bad feelings onto paper.
I Told You Not To Turn. Again, it all comes down to simple communication. On my way to work the other day, I noticed this on the bank of the canal. I then looked around to see if I could spot a car in the water. No car. Phew.
The Joys of a White Crayon. Here's a shot of the Easter egg I did on Sunday. While my kids were content to simply dunk their eggs into the dye and watch them turn different colors, I painstakingly did my best at using a white crayon on a white egg and then dyed it four colors.
What Does April Snow Bring? Seriously, we were all set for spring to arrive a week or two ago. The daffodils had bloomed, the kids were suffering from spring-fever, and I was seriously considering wearing shorts and flip-flops. And now this crap.
In Threes. I like taking pictures that show texture, especially when they are close up and it feels like you can almost touch them. This is definitely one where you can see—and almost feel—three separate textures.
Little Black Tags. Okay, you've heard the term "little black dress" and "little black book"—I'd like you to meet ""little black tag". Now I feel special.
Seriously? Snow in April? This was what I woke up to the other day after being spoiled with spring-like weather for the past little while. Seriously? Welcome to Utah.
Fallen Angel. This is one of those spiky seeds I mentioned in an earlier post (AC145). I picked it up and carried it to the van. After I got this shot, it rolled off my leg and onto the floor. I am sure it's still there, somewhere.
Depends on How You Look at It. I passed this walking to the van the other day and automatically it looked like one of those old fashioned pop bottle openers. Then I did a double take and realized this was the bottom to the martini glass in AC099.
